Elena Michaels was born on June 17th, 1992 to unknown parents she was given up for adoption shortly after her birth but never had luck finding a family to adopt her. She went from foster home to foster home until she was 14 when she ran away from foster care and crashed at her close friend Tyler's place.
In 2012 Elena discovered that she was related to the Mikaelson Family, but it wasn't reveled much on how it was hinted by Klaus that she was a descendant of his eldest brother who died that forced Mikel and Esther to move to the New World that is now known as Mystic Falls. Elena had been trying to find her family for as long as she could remember and despite being nearly killed countless times for trying to find them she won't give up, even though her friends have told her to stop looking. She isn't a quitter nor afraid she is almost fearless. Elena has been living with Tyler's family since she was 14 years old, and now remains living in the house living with Matt, whom she has grown romantic feelings for recently.
