Rayén "Ray" Constanza Scamander (née Neruda, born 2nd April 1969) is a Chilean witch and Magiornithologist (a Magizoologist that specialises in birds) working at the Chilean Magical Bird Sanctury. She was born in the city of Valparaíso in Chile to Leonor and Marko Neruda, she has two elder siblings Angélica and Luis. Rayén works at the Chilean Magical Bird Sanctury, she's primarily working on increasing the number of breeding Skelligruth in the world, and began a group called the River Rock Conservation Society to raise awareness to the creatures' plight.

Rayén attended Castelobruxo, a magical school in South America, between the years of 1980 and 1988. Her favourite supject was Care of Magical Creatures, forshadowing what her later career would be.
